National Military Appreciation Month

Honoring One of Our Very Own – Federico Umayam
Oysters Sand Arbor, #810 in supporting the movement, National Military Appreciation Month, May 2025, spent an afternoon honoring one of our very own officer, Third Class Petty Officer United States Navy, Federico Umayam (OSA #810 – Reporter).
Eric as he is fondly called, proudly served USN for eight years. Throughout his military career, he has learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and professionalism—principles that guide him both in and out of uniform.
According to Eric, “I’ve earned both my Surface and Air Warfare Specialist pins, been honored as Blue Jacket of the Year, and received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, all through dedication and perseverance. One of the most meaningful moments in my service was delivering food and water to hurricane victims in Haiti—an experience that deepened my commitment to serving those in need and inspired me to continue supporting underprivileged communities.” We are proud to have him in OSA and in the Gleaner Family.
